I am passionate in considering a holistic approach that incorporates both the mind and body.   We cannot ignore what is expressed through words, neither can we ignore what is expressed through the body.  We all have a story to tell and finding a safe and contained space in which to do that can provide acceptance and release.

We embody all that we experience through our feelings and emotions.  To maintain good health we must listen to the ease and dis-ease that our body presents.  I am committed towards supporting my clients in their journey towards becoming more consistently at ease and fully 'alive'.

Our
Story

On becoming Alive Therapies ...

Alive Therapies needed to be more than 'just' a therapy service.  It needed to provide a holistic approach that could be personalised to each individual no matter what part of their journey they were on.

To provide the depth and breadth of provision, the foundations needed to be set.  These foundations are shown as roots in the video to the left and incorporate a vast amount of training accumulated over decades.  Without roots a tree cannot exist and so the roots are continually nurtured through relevant training and research.  The trunk of the tree provides a core that is based on clear ethics and values which are acknowledged as a fundamental underpinning of Alive Therapies.  It is only then that the branches can start to produce leaves and buds and this is where the real work begins .... with you.

My motivation

by founder and CEO, Sally Reid.

Like many people I have experienced cancer directly and indirectly.  My dad suffered considerably with cancer, initially bowel and later throat cancer before sadly passing away.  My mum suffered with breast cancer and was completing her treatment at the time I was then diagnosed, also with breast cancer, at the start of the Covid 19 lock down.  I received all treatment made available to me: chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, hormone therapy, and Herceptin. I was unaware of additional or alternative ways to support my physical and mental well-being, and later recovery.  I am fortunate to have survived but have needed to manage the impact the treatment has had on my body in particular, but also on my mind.  Through training, reading and research I have learned a lot about cancer and the impact it has on the body.  I have developed a deeper knowledge and understanding of ways in which to reduce risk, to support difficulties during treatment and to aid recovery.  From a holistic perspective, that includes our psychological, physical, spiritual, and social wellbeing, I consider what is needed to 'be' and to 'feel' fully alive.
